Background: MEF cells serve as feeder cells that support the growth of undifferentiated

mouse or human embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

MEF cells are isolated from mouse embryos and should be used at their early passages.

Before use, MEF cells are usually treated by γ-irradiation or mitomycin-C to stop their further

proliferation.
