Applications
Antibiotic;aminoglycoside,chemically related to gentamicin. Inhibits prokaryotic and eukaryotic protein synthesis in bacteria, yeast, protozoan, higher plant and mammalian cells. It is widely used in the selection and maintenance of eukaryotic cells stably transfected with vectors that express the neomycin resistant gene.
