一般描述:蛋白质G最初是从G148中分离出来，这是一种人组G链球菌菌株。这是一种细胞壁蛋白，有很高的IgG(免疫球蛋白G)亲和性。它公认的分子量是30000Da。它能和所有人IgG亚型互作，也能够结合小鼠、兔和山羊IgG。

特异性

蛋白质G是一种细胞壁蛋白质，从特殊细菌菌株中分离出来，对于来自不同物种的某些型免疫球蛋白有特异性结合位点。蛋白G几乎能够结合所有IgG亚型，但无法结合其它型免疫球蛋白。
