Catechin is a phenolic antioxidant. Catechins are found in chocolate, red wine, green tea, fruits (apricots or cherry), and vegetables including broad beans. Food catechins are of different types such as catechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin, epicatechin gallate, and epigallocatechin gallate (Muzolf-Panek et al., 2012).
