【Product Description】                       
Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is a modification of Basal Medium Eagle (BME). It was developed by Harry Eagle to meet the specific nutritional requirements of certain subtypes of Hela cells and normal mammalian fibroblasts. MEM includes higher concentration of amino acids so as to closely approximate the protein composition of cultured mammalian cells. MEM can be used either with Earle's salts or Hanks salts and can also be additionally supplemented with non-essential amino acids (NEAA). This medium can be further modified by eliminating calcium to facilitate growth of cells in suspension cultures.
  【Storage and Stability】
Minimum Essential Medium Eagle (MEM), With Earle's salts and L-Glutamine should be stored at 2-8°C. Use before the expiry date.

【Procedure】
1.Take a bottle from the defined storage conditions at 2-8°C and read the label.
2.Wipe the outside of the bottle with a disinfectant solution such as 70% ethanol.
3.Using aseptic/sterile technique under a laminar-flow culture hood, work according to established protocols.
4.Antibiotics may be added if desired.

【Quality Control】
Minimum Essential Medium Eagle (MEM), With Earle's salts and L-Glutamine is tested for sterility, pH, osmolality and endotoxin concentrations. In addition, each batch is tested for cell growth using Vero.
