Terasense新推出的高功率电-真空太赫兹源，是基于返波管BWO效应研发而成。电子枪发射出的电子束被外部磁场纵向聚焦，磁场是由一块永久性磁铁产生。电子束在一个慢波结构（slow-wave structure）中相互作用，与此同时，和电子束反向的行波产生。产生的电磁波被波导耦合输出。通过改变加速电压，设备的输出频率在一定范围内可以被电控制。电-真空太赫兹源可以产生很强的太赫兹输出功率，真正意义上满足了几个太赫兹应用方向中一直以来对高功率太赫兹源的需求
