Last Updated: August 24, 2025

Medicine Platform is committed to maintaining a safe, compliant, and trustworthy global marketplace. Our policies are guided by international laws, conventions, and ethical principles established by authoritative bodies such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the World Customs Organization (WCO), and CITES. All users are responsible for ensuring their listings adhere to these rules.

Important: This policy provides a non-exhaustive list of prohibited items. Medicine Platform reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of any listing and to update this policy at any time. Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, or other actions.

1. Human-Derived Materials (Strictly Prohibited)

In accordance with the WHO Guiding Principles on Human Cell, Tissue and Organ Transplantation and guidance from UNESCO, the commercial trade of human-derived materials is strictly forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Human Organs: Any form of trade in human organs (e.g., kidneys, livers, hearts) is illegal. Only non-commercial, voluntary donation is permissible under global ethical standards.
  • Human Tissues & Cells: Commercial trade of corneas, skin, bone marrow, and other tissues is prohibited.
  • Human Blood & Blood Products: The sale of blood and its components (e.g., plasma) is forbidden. These must be sourced through voluntary, non-remunerated donation systems as per WHO's global strategy for safe blood.
  • Human Gametes: Commercial trade of sperm and eggs is generally illegal and is not permitted on the platform.
  • Human Remains: The commercial sale of human remains, including skeletons and bones, is prohibited.
  • Human Derivatives: Commercial trade in products like breast milk is not permitted.

2. Dangerous Pathogens, Biological Agents, and Toxins (Strictly Prohibited)

  • These materials are restricted to authorized public health and research laboratories and cannot be commercially traded on our platform.

3. Substandard, Falsified, and Counterfeit Medical Products (Strictly Prohibited)

As a global platform, we align with the efforts of WHO, INTERPOL, and national regulatory agencies (like the FDA, EMA, and NMPA) to combat substandard, spurious, falsely-labelled, falsified, and counterfeit (SSFFC) medical products. The following are strictly forbidden:

  • Counterfeit Medicines & Vaccines: Any product that deliberately and fraudulently misrepresents its identity, composition, or source.
  • Falsified Medical Devices: Unauthorized copies or modifications of legitimate medical devices.
  • Substandard or Unapproved Products: Products that do not meet quality standards or have not received marketing authorization from a recognized regulatory body. This includes unapproved experimental treatments or gene therapies.

4. Materials from Endangered Species (Strictly Prohibited)

In compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), any medical or health product derived from species listed in CITES Appendix I, II, or III is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Products containing tiger bone, rhinoceros horn, pangolin scales, or other materials from protected species.

5. Other Restricted and Prohibited Categories

The following categories are also prohibited or subject to strict limitations:

  • Prescription Drugs for Direct-to-Consumer Sale: Listing prescription-only medicines for sale directly to the general public is forbidden. B2B transactions are only permitted between verified, licensed entities in full compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Stolen Goods: Listing any stolen medical equipment or supplies is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.
